Kovitz graduated with an honours diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Television Writing Producing and Directing in 1993.

In 1995, she and Jeff Peeler formed Critical Madness Productions, a commercial production house in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Kovitz was the producer for numerous local and national commercials for clients such as the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, Walmart, University of Manitoba, and Manitoba Lotteries.

Kovitz joined Credo Entertainment Corporation in 1998. As Vice-President for Credo Productions, her responsibilities included commercials and special projects, including ALL ABOARD, a multi-screen, multi-sensory permanent theatre and the national and theatrical released commercials for PARKS AND HERITAGE CANADA.

In 1999, Kovitz embarked on a world wide tour, traveling around the world 3 times as producer/director/writer ofi WORLD’S GREATEST SPAS, the world's first spa-oriented travel show. The series' 52 episodes are now seen in over 80 countries.

Kovitz joined Rainshadow Media Ltd in 2001. She edited, as well as co-directed and co-produced THE NAUGHTY BITS, the engaging six part series about the cultural history of six body parts.

She most recently finished a stint as series producer of THE SHOPPING BAGS,a Force Four production for the W Network.
